Schools Shouldnt Block Most Sites

Schools have been blocking sites ever since i have remembered. Every site i seem to go is blocked. Yes, some sites should be blocked, but not every single site is bad. Like Facebook, it has almost 350 million users worldwide. In West Morris about 90% of kids probably have a Facebook. Since kids already have a Facebook the school should just let them go on it in there free time. Everyone knows the trick to get on it anyway, but because its blocked it negates some of the apps which is just annoying.

Another site is spark notes, all it does is help you know the story if you didn't have time to read a chapter or two. So would if a kid forgot to read and just needs some help they cant just go in the library and print out a summary of the chapter then they fail that class. It will be the schools fault the kid cant pass English.

Only really bad sites should be blocked, like pornographic sites those are the bad ones people should care about. They shouldn't block the sites everybody knows about and uses. I can understand why they would block a majority of sites, but its just stupid and annoying.

  1. yeah we all go on facebook anyway so blocking it is so pointless. and sparknotes is not bad at all, it helps a lot.

  4. I agree...they're choosing to block too many sites instead of just the ones they need to block.

  5. why do they have to block evey sit? it is like the school does not trust us going on the computer. I feel like a little kid again when we can't get on to a wedsit. they should unblock the sits they have block so that we do not feel like a little kid that can't get on the computer.
